*COP 15 and CLIMATE JUSTICE: Collapse, Greenwash or New Impetus for the

Future?*

Following on from the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in

December 2009, you are invited to a multistakeholder event co-sponsored

by the United Nations Non Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS),

Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative, and the Dag

Hammarskjöld Foundation, to be held on Monday 25 January from 10 a.m. to

12.30 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at UN Headquarters (in the new North

Lawn Building).

The event will feature experts from governments, the United Nations and

civil society organizations and offer a unique opportunity for an

in-depth analysis of the outcome of the Copenhagen summit, including

from a climate justice and human rights perspective. It will be

facilitated by H.E. Ms. Mary Robinson and follow the format of a

moderated discussion among the experts and with the audience.

Confirmed panelists include:

· Bob Orr, ASG for Policy and Planning, United Nations

· Ambassador Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping, Chief G77 Negotiator in

Copenhagen

· Meena Raman, Third World Network

· Ben Margolis, Tck Tck Tck Campaign

A brief concept note of the event will follow shortly. For those unable

to attend, a webcast will be made available shortly after the event

takes place.
