Bill Gates ZERO CARBON Talk is now up on TED

Not really a Gates fan (nor a fan of nuclear, GE seeds, vaccines, etc.) but I have to say how incredible it is that Bill Gates will talk about the necessary target being zero when the environmental movement has refused to do so. Greenpeace Australia is the only large org. that I know of that has put out a statement to this affect.

NGOs have all known for a long time that zero carbon is the only target that will stabilize the planet – yet no one wants to talk about it. No one wants to even mention it.

Until now – with Gates taking the global stage to do so.

Should this not have been Greenpeace et all??? Or the Climate Justice Groups?

Bill Gates may have vested interest in Nuclear, etc. or whatever … but the interest served by the environmental movement / climate justice movement should have been for the purpose of societies and humanity itself.

Time for reflection???

At TED2010, Bill Gates unveils his vision for the world’s energy future, describing the need for "miracles" to avoid planetary catastrophe and explaining why he’s backing a dramatically different type of nuclear reactor. The necessary goal? Zero carbon emissions globally by 2050.
